HIKES IN BERGEN
Bergen is a unique city because the mountains are so easily accessible to everyone. Most people head up to Fløyen and Ulriken when they are here to experience the great views of the city, and with good reason—it’s a sight you never really get tired of. What’s nice about these two peaks is that you can choose to take the funicular (Fløibanen) or the cable car (Ulriksbanen) both up and down if you don’t feel like walking the whole way.
After spending a lot of time in the city mountains, I’ve found my own favorites and regular routes that I always return to. What I like best about Bergen is that you can choose between everything from wide paths and stairs to more varied terrain with great views along the way.
I’m often asked which hikes I recommend when people want something more than just the most common tourist routes. That’s why I’ve gathered my personal favorites near the city center in a digital guide. I’ve included the hikes I like best myself, whether it’s a short afternoon walk or a longer day trip.
